the International Society for Advancement of Supercritical Fluids, a non-profit society that aims to promote knowledge and applications of Supercritical Fluids towards organization of scientific meetings.
The Institute for Solid State Chemistry of Bordeaux (Institut de Chimie de la Matière Condensée de Bordeaux, ICMCB) was founded in 1995. It is associated with CNRS, the University of Bordeaux, and with the local engineering school Polytechnical Institute of Bordeaux (Bordeaux INP). ICMCB is involved in academic researches in the field of advanced materials. he ICMCB focuses on three research areas: Solid State Chemistry, Materials Science and Molecular Science. This complementary combination, and the resulting synergies, has contributed to the national and international reputation of the ICMCB in Materials Research.
Furthermore, the ICMCB associates even its fundamental research activities to potential or existing applications. Our interest is not limited to ideal materials and their intrinsic properties, but specifically includes interfaces, surfaces and composites. An important role in this aspect plays our activities in nano-materials and meta-materials. Research also covers all length scales from atomic clusters over nano-particles to macroscopic bulk ceramics and single crystals.
The institute of Chemistry and Biology of Membranes and Nano-objects (CBMN, UMR5248) is an institute belonging to CNRS, University of Bordeaux and to the Bordeaux Aquitaine National Polytechnic Institute. It is multi-disciplinary and operates at the interface between Chemistry, Biology and Physics by hosting 15 research laboratories distributed in three departments: Biomimetic and Therapeutic Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry and Biology and Biotechnology. 9 Technical Platforms (NMR, X-Rays, Electron Microscopy, Mass spectrometry, Vibrational spectroscopy (IR-Raman-BA-PWR), Molecular Modelling, AFM, peptide synthesis, recombinant protein production) nicely complement the high level expertise of research laboratories.
Chemical Engineering Laboratory (LGC)
Interlinking Science and Technology, the LGC participates in the latest advances in Chemical Engineering and develops experimental and theoretical research for new insights at the core of processes of transformation of matter and energy.
The LGC is supported by its three tutorships, the CNRS, the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse and the Paul Sabatier University of Toulouse. Through its six scientific divisions, the 300 staff of LGC address five major societal challenges: water and effluents, energy, bio-refinery, materials processing and health engineering.
